Therapy vs. Analysis

Our winter series on TELEVISION concluded this week with another trio of recorded lectures and another epic online discussion.💥

The crew, as always, was unstoppable. It’s gloves as well. And all the better to “touch upon the real,” just as Lacan advised.

One startling new development in the series — at least for me — was the diagram below, which crystallizes the relationship between psychoanalysis and psychotherapy that Lacan discusses in TELEVISION. Not surprisingly, it all comes down to that S1: What do you do when you get there, in and beyond the consulting room? Turn left into the capitalist discourse, or turn right into its analytic counterpoint?
