The Desire of the Other
I’m delighted to report that our new series on Seminar XVI is off to a roaring start, with recorded lectures arriving weekly and six more live discussions still to come.

Here’s one from my recent lecture on chapter four — a diagram which has as much to say about the barred Other as it does about the split subject — and not just about why and how the Other lacks but also, crucially, about the particular kind of desire that flows from this lack:
Can’t wait to discuss this diagram — as well as the topology that inspired it — at our next get together on the 24th. Hope to see you there!
