Our summer series on L’Étourdit is blazing along, and now at its midway point, so I thought I’d write to say, “hi.” But also: “hot damn!” Is L’Étourdit a tough read? You bet — but also well worth the effort, I’m finding. The essay is brimming with summative statements and breakthrough insights — way more than I had anticipated:

Saying beyond the said, sense beyond signification, the real beyond the true… And with lots of useful coinages along the way: ab-sex sense, nyania, thommosexuation, heterossexuation, even a properly “analytic sense” — one which . . . well . . . as Lacan puts it, “you-can-feel-it.” 🤘🏽❤️💎🫠
