You knew this announcement was coming! That’s right, it’s finally time to set our sights on The Other Side of Psychoanalysis (Seminar XVII) — and with it Lacan’s renowned discursive turn toward Universities, Masters, Hysterics, and Analysts alike:
After 400-pages of Seminar XVI, this should be a breeze, right? If only! The English translation of Seminar XVII may be under 200 pages, but almost every chapter is a clinical and conceptual tour de force. So here’s how I’d like to proceed:
From mid-June to late-July, I’ll send weekly recorded lectures on Seminar XVII to all registered participants. Then, every other Friday, from 10am-12pm PST, I’ll host live Zoom discussions of these materials, paying special attention, as always, to their implications for analytic theory and technique.
Schedule of Events:
16 June: Zoom Discussion, 10am PST. Readings covered: Lacan, The Other Side of Psychoanalysis (Seminar XVII), Chapters 1-3.
30 June: Zoom Discussion, 10am PST. Readings covered: Lacan, The Other Side of Psychoanalysis (Seminar XVII), Chapters 4-6.
14 July: Zoom Discussion, 10am PST. Readings covered: Lacan, The Other Side of Psychoanalysis (Seminar XVII), Chapters 7-10.
28 July: Zoom Discussion, 10am PST. Readings covered: Lacan, The Other Side of Psychoanalysis (Seminar XVII), Chapters 11-13.

Registration Costs:
Seminar XVII is an especially key text in Lacanian psychoanalysis, so I’d like to make this lecture series accessible to as many folks as possible. To that end, I’ve decided to offer the entire series, lectures and discussions alike, on a donation basis.
The suggested donation for the complete series is $200 for professionals or $100 for students and trainees, but any donation, big or small, will allow you to register for the complete series. To register, click on the button below or use the QR code beneath it.
Thank you for supporting Lectures on Lacan, and I look forward to reading Seminar XVII with you this summer!
