Hi All,
Our series on Anxiety (Seminar X) concluded this week, yielding 18+ hours of recorded lectures, as well as several new mathemes, formulas, and diagrams — some of which are already making the rounds on Instagram. A big shout out, to say the least, to all the brains that made this lecture series possible: Akasa, Alex, Carolina, Caroline, Chaim, Chandler, Christie, Cody, David, Desiree, Gabriel, György, Ira, Joshua, Kathryn, Madi, Monica, Nabaparna, Nick, Oliver, Palōmi, Robert, Stephanie, Sydney, and Xinghua!
Next for Lectures on Lacan, you ask? Why, Seminar XI, of course!
I plan to cover the entire seminar in five online sessions, starting June 29, with a pay-what-you-can structure throughout. And in keeping with the spirit of Seminar XI, where Lacan attempted to introduce his work to a wider, less-specialized audience than ever before, I plan to orient this lecture series around the four fundamental concepts he presents: the unconscious, repetition, transference, and the drive. More details here.
In the meantime, see below to follow us on Instagram, help us spread the word, and leave a comment for the group. Be on the lookout for a YouTube channel as well — and with it a bunch of fresh content, including chapter-by-chapter video commentaries on The Psychoses (Seminar III), The Ethics of Psychoanalysis (Seminar VII), and The Other Side of Psychoanalysis (Seminar XVII), and maybe a few close readings of key essays in Écrits.
More soon!
