As we prepare to dive into Seminar XXIV, I want to take a moment to extend another profound thank you to Professor Holly Haynes. Through her generous sponsorship, we are able to open our doors wider than ever and welcome an emerging Lacanian into our community.
It is with great pleasure that I announce our 2026 Haynes Fellow: Keir Hamilton, an undergraduate student who will be joining us from Manchester Metropolitan University. 🤩
Keir’s academic work makes him an exceptional addition to this series. He is currently writing his undergraduate thesis on the relationship between disavowal and love, exploring the compelling argument that the former works in direct opposition to the latter. What a thematic primer for Lacan’s return to love in Seminar XXIV!
Like many of us, Keir has also found reading Lacan to be a practice in patience — often bewildering, but also deeply rewarding. Because he currently has no practicing Lacanians at his home university, I am especially thrilled that he’ll be able to work through Seminar XXIV with us.
Please join me in welcoming Keir to the group! 👏🏼
And there’s still time for you to join the series, too! The first lecture is now in circulation among registered participants — just in time for our first online discussion on Friday, September 11.
Whether you are a seasoned analyst or a curious first-timer, there is a seat for you here.
